Muharram-ul-Haram is an Islamic month and it is a very important month according to Muslims because many important historical events of Islam happened in it. It is an honorable month as Allah has declared that Muharram is one of four honorable and holy months of Islam. Allah says in the Holy Quran: “ Verily, the number of months with Allah is 12 (in a year): it was so appointed, by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them, 4 are sacred. That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein …” ( al-Tawbah, 9:36 ) Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) stated: “ The year is 12 months, of which 4 are sacred: 3 consecutive months, Dhul Qadah, Dhul Hijjah, and Muharram, and Rajab of Mudar which comes between Jumada al-Thani and Shabbaan ”. Islamic Lunar Calendar consists of 12 months and Ramadan is one of the twelve months. Fasting in this month is contained in the list of five pillars of Islam, therefore it is a great month than other months. In the Ramadan, Allah revealed verses of the Holy Quran towards last Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him). Actual, Quran is a curriculum to pass life in the world for every human. Allah Almighty says about the month of Ramadan that it is my month. The reward of one good deed and one worship is equal to seventy good deeds and seventy worships. In this month, fasting is obligatory for every Muslims who have got the age of puberty. Fasting of Ramadan is not prescribed for children, old and those Muslims who are suffering from illnesses, pregnant women, and breastfeeding women. Muslims from all over the world prefer to perform Umrah in this month due to countless blessings and virtues but it is not obligatory to perform Umrah in Ramadan.   Umrah is not obligatory as Hajj is
