6 Most Sacred Places In Madinah
Madinah is the second
religious place in Islam. Millions of people come to visit this holy place
during the Hajj and Umrah. It is important for Muslims because Prophet Muhammad
(Peace Be Upon Him) is buried in the al-Nabvi Mosque, which is the second holiest and
largest mosque in the world. Many sacred places are related to
Islam and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH).
I talk about some holy
places in Madinah, which I already have visited last year during my Umrah trip.
These sacred places are related to Islamic history. Millions of the Pilgrims
come to see these holy places in Medina when they go to Saudi Arabia for any
reason.
Six more sacred sites in Madinah:
- Masjid-e-Nabawi
- Quba Mosque
- Mount Uhud
- Masjid Al-Ahzaab (Masjid Al-Fath)
- Al-Madina Museum
- Masjid Al-Qiblatain
Masjid-e-Nabawi
Al-Masjid an-Nabawi is a second holy mosque
which is established and built in the city of Medina in the Hejaz region of
Saudi Arabia by the Islamic prophet Muhammad [PBUH]. It was one of the first
mosques built by Muhammad [PBUH] and now is listed in the second-largest
mosques in the world. It is the second most sacred place for Muslims after
Masjid-ul-Haram because Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is also buried at this spot
with his two companions under the green dome that has become the landmark of
Masjid-e-Nabawi.
Quba Mosque
Quba Mosque is a mosque in the outlying of
Medina, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the mosque was built 6 kilometers off Medina
in the village of Quba. It is one of the few must-visit places in Madinah in
religious reference. It is the second-largest mosque in Madinah after the
Prophet’s (PBUH) Mosque. It is one of the oldest mosques in Madinah, and it was
founded by the Prophet (PBUH) himself after migrating from Makkah.
Mount Uhud
Mount
Uhud is a mountain north of Medina. It is 1,077m high. It was the site of the 2nd battle
(Ghazwah Uhud) between Muslim and Meccan forces. The Battle of Uhud was fought on
19 March, 625 CE, between a force from the small Muslim community of Medina and
a large army from Mecca.
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) once
said:
“Uhud is a mountain that loves us, and we love it.”
Masjid Al-Ahzaab (Masjid Al-Fath)
This mosque is located at that place where the
enemies attacked Madinah. Right at that place, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) made dua
(supplication) during the Battle of Ahzab and where Allah sent him the glad
tidings of victory.
Al-Madina Museum
Madina Museum is located on King Abdul Aziz
Road in Madinah Knowledge Economic City. It is the first and the oldest museum
in Madinah dedicated to the history of Islam.
The museum has also recounted the details
about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) publishing periodicals and
holding seminars on the history and culture of the city.
The museum opens from Saturday to Thursday.
Masjid Al-Qiblatain
Masjid Qiblatain is also a Mosque of the Two
Qiblas. It is historically significant to Muslims as this is where, in Rajab 2
AH, the revelation of the Quranic verse came, to change the direction of the
Qibla from Bait-al-Maqdis to the Kaaba.
If anyone wants to
perform Umrah from the UK, then I recommend for him/her that he/she should take any
Umrah Packages in this matter from any agency because it is better.
But I will
suggest for you the Labbaik Hajj Umrah Travel Agency.
